Concept:Strong |
Technical Skill:Very strong |
Impact/impression:Very strong |
Pros:Atmospheric perspective
Tension, a cinematic feel that is lacking in most submissions these days...far from an ordinary pinup Fantastic attention to detail You actually included the figures in the environment...typically people will paint falling snow everywhere but in front of their character's face Cons:I know this is a pen so mistakes will be made (unless you cleaned it up in PS) but the girl doesn't seem like she's standing there...more like she's been placed there. I think it's her foward foot thats irking me.
Try varying your line weight, as of right now it's pretty universal. Overall opinion/feedback:4 hours...I hate you.
But I must say that one of my earlier (and best) pen works was pretty quick. I think perhaps it's knowing there is no erasing that prompts you to work faster, and even better as you don't concern yourself with every stroke being a mistake or not. All I can say is that it's a shame it took you this long to really get involved in art...keep it up. Once you get your painting skills figured out you'll be going places for sure. |

The guy's arm and sword work well compositionaly, framing the girl and echoing her movement...but there is little joy to be found in the linework that makes up the hand and sword. At this magnitude and this close to the viewer it needs to be perfect and, more importantly the linework needs to be smoother and cleaner to give some contrast to the more distant elements.
Both your inkwork and colour work continue to improve...which is great....if you can combine the best elements from the two discplines you're gonna be an artist to be reckoned with!

You're really taking things to the next level.
Hmmm, what can I say that hasn't been said...?
I like the strong "V" motion reflected in the female as well as the arm and sword in the foreground. It gives a good sense of depth. I'd agree that the hand and arm need a little more attention, being such a prominent element in the foreground. In terms of line weight, think of varying the line weight a little more, and in more appropriate ways. For instance, the outline of the hand and sword carries the same weight as the female figure's outline. If her lines were a little lighter, or the hand/sword heavier, there would be a greater sense of depth and balance.
I'm really enjoying the trees--I've got a thing for trees. Nice job with the minimalist coloring, as well. I like the fade technique from ball point blue to white.

to come to your Q, well i used regular ballpoint blue pen to draw this
and after i scanned it using PS i added only the blowing wind effect and the sky/background
to match the color of the lines i chose a lighter tone of my original lines.. thats why
didnt it go well with the color sheme??
