Description
well i have been very busy at work and had almost no time to do new artwork, so with what lil time i got i wanted to retouch an old piece pencilled inked and colored by me of the fan favorite barbarian who started the fantasy genre, the one and only Conan by R.E.Howardthe original pinup was done by Ernie Chan i believe - one of Conan's greatest pencilers along with J Buscema, B.W. smith and the rest..
hope you guys like my rendition
originally done on paper, inked and colored with colored pencils
added some hishlights and blur on PS(since i did this in '91 some lines were lost its sharpness etc)
feel free to shoot, all comments and crtis are welcome

in some parts i might have over used the blur
so i accept the charge

as you said the purpose of the blur was to bring the main characters to the front
and yeah i did this at work so rushed a lot (the retouch part is done at work, the piece originally was done back in 91 with only pencil and ink then in color pencils)
thnx again diane
will let you know when i redo this piece

The pencil strokes in the background make it look dirty, and the blur really hurts the drawing.
The anatomy looks great (the girl's left knee seems a bit weird, but it might just be the shading... ) and the color seems OK. The ink shading is nice too.
You might want to clean up the background...

Not keen on the background either...as much as I hate his work a Boris Vallejo type tableaux backdrop would suit this better.
